FAMILIES WITH KIDS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME!

Kids Love to Fish!  It's a great way for family to reconnect and Capt. Chad has a special and patient way with young children.  He provides a different kind of trip for them and the whole family - one that allows them to catch fish and have lots of fun, long before the weather gets to them and they become drained from the wind and sun. They learn to catch fish while being entertained and educated about the eco-system, different types of fish and the marine life they encounter out on the water...like dolphins playing and birds they'll see.  It's an adventure they won't soon forget - everyone has fun and comes back with plenty of fish!

Current Fishing Report:

November 16, 2014

Winter pattern has started early this year. Low fishing pressure due to hunting season, Lower tides forced out by cold fronts = (Lots of fish), Cooler weather temperatures and leaving dock at a later time allowing for my customers to sleep in a bit is what makes these trips enjoyable this time of year. There are several reasons these fish drop out of back lakes and out of the flats here are a few notable reasons. Tide levels are a major contributor. Tide levels are influenced by cold fronts just as hurricanes blow water in which create high tide, north wind from a frontal system pushes water out leaving the fish high and dry with nowhere to go but out. if you can find these exits of the lakes and guts inside the flats you can find the fish. Another major reason the fish leave the back lakes is because of the water temperatures. Cooler overnight temperatures cause the fish to seek refuge in the deeper guts which typically has warmer current flow with a muddy bottom which holds heat for the colder nights. Live shrimp, dead shrimp and finger mullet or my baits that I prefer. Love to drag soft plastics along the drop offs... also for trout and redfish, watermelon and pink are the color's I usually throw with colder water temperatures.

Check out some of my photos from this week. Take a child fishing make great memories for them to last a lifetime!

Whether you're looking for a relaxing day of fishing with the family or need to hire an experienced and successful tournament fishing guide, Capt. Chad Verburgt will share his knowledge with you and show you winning techniques to catch a whole lot of fish while having fun!

Redfish: Also known as red drum, this fish has large, distinguishable spots on the upper part of the tail.  Fun to catch and even better to eat.  Many of the local restaurants will cook your catch for you!

Speckled Trout:  One of the most popular sport fish along the Texas coast.  Its willingness to hit natural/artificial baits make the species extremely popular with rod and reel anglers  Rod-benders!

Flounder: These flat fish are one of the most delectable fish to eat.  These unique fish are caught at night in the late fall and early spring month (except for the month of November).
